Role DescriptionThe Elementary School Teacher at Christian Light Academy will design and deliver daily instruction for elementary-grade learners using the Abeka curriculum and school guidelines. Responsibilities include planning engaging lessons, teaching core subjects, integrating biblical principles where appropriate, assessing student progress, maintaining accurate records, and providing regular feedback to students and families. The teacher will collaborate with school leadership and colleagues to support student growth, participate in staff meetings, and contribute to a positive classroom and school culture.
This is a contract, on‑site role located in Lexington, KY, requiring consistent classroom presence during the school year and active participation in school activities.
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Teaching and Elementary Education, with experience managing and instructing young learners in a classroom setting.
- Candidates should possess skills in Curriculum Development and Education, including the ability to plan lessons, align with standards, and adapt materials for diverse learning needs.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including clear instructional communication, effective collaboration with colleagues, and professional interaction with families.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; relevant teaching certification or licensure preferred.
- Experience with Christian or faith‑based education environments and familiarity with the Abeka curriculum is an asset.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills, cultural sensitivity, and commitment to supporting students’ academic and personal development.
- Ability to work on‑site in Lexington, KY, meet contract expectations, and comply with all school policies and safety requirements.
