Job Summary
The Senior Coordinator for Council Advising, Engagement Events, and New Membership Experiences serves as the primary advisor to an assigned fraternity or sorority governing council and a portfolio of fraternity and sorority chapters. Council assignments are determined by departmental priorities and may change over time.
Through a comprehensive chapter coaching model, the Senior Coordinator provides strategic advising, leadership development, organizational support, and operational guidance that promote student success, healthy organizations, and a thriving fraternity and sorority community. The position leads recruitment and intake initiatives, new member experiences, engagement programming, and signature events that foster belonging, leadership development, meaningful FSL community engagement, and student retention.
Working collaboratively with students, alumni advisors, inter/national organizations, campus partners, and community stakeholders, the Senior Coordinator advances the mission of Fraternity and Sorority Life while contributing to departmental strategic initiatives and the University of Kentucky’s commitment to student success.
Student success will, from the time of early college outreach to graduation and beyond, support students in living a life of meaning and purpose. From a student-centered framework, our practice will be grounded in peer-reviewed literature, national best practices, and data-informed decision-making. Collaborating with the campus and community, Student Success will work through a holistic lens to support a community of learners in achieving success.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Strong student advising, leadership development, and organizational coaching skills; experience supporting fraternity and sorority councils or student organizations; program and event planning; recruitment and new member education; relationship building; conflict resolution; policy interpretation; assessment and data analysis; strong written and verbal communication; and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively with colleagues, students, alumni, campus partners, and inter/national organizations.
Evening, weekend, and on-call availability is also required.

Preferred Education/Experience
Master’s degree (or equivalency) in higher education, student affairs, college student personnel, counseling, leadership, or a related field, with at least three years of professional experience in fraternity and sorority life, student organization advising, leadership development, event planning, program management, or a related student affairs area. Experience advising a fraternity or sorority governing council and supporting recruitment, chapter coaching, leadership programs, and large-scale events is preferred.
