We're looking for a Water Resources Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join the HMB team!

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design and analysis of water resource projects, including drinking water and sanitary sewer collection network design.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations utilizing computer modeling software and other industry-standard tools.
  • Support permitting efforts by preparing technical reports, documentation, and regulatory applications.
  • Conduct field investigations, site assessments, and data collection for utility design.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, environmental specialists, and regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare technical drawings, maps, specifications, contract documents, and reports using AutoCAD, GIS, and other relevant software.
  • Stay informed about industry regulations, guidelines, and best practices.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 0-4 years of experience in water resources engineering (internships or co-op experience is applicable).
  • Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is desired.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal communication, as well as time management skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client needs and deadlines, as well as other assigned project parameters
  • Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
