Project Field Engineer

My client works on data center projects as an owner-appointed EPC for on-site power and microgrids. They’re typically brought in directly by the data center owner to design, build, and commission gas generation and microgrid controls, working in parallel with the GC who delivers the core facility while focusing purely on the mission-critical power scope. They are one of the busiest EPCs in the US market delivering independent power generation for the markets busiest sectors.

• Provide daily field support to construction activities across mechanical, electrical, and balance-of-plant scopes
• Serve as the primary interface between field execution and engineering documentation
• Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to support constructability and correct installation
• Track and manage RFIs, field clarifications, and redlines/as-built documentation
• Verify installations align with approved IFC drawings and manufacturer requirements
• Support QA/QC inspections, punch walks, and commissioning readiness
• Coordinate closely with the Assistant PM to flag field-driven impacts to schedule, cost, or scope
• Maintain accurate field documentation within Procore
• Promote and enforce Clarke Energy safety and quality standards

• 3–7 years of experience as a field engineer or project engineer on industrial or power projects
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and field coordination
• Comfortable working full-time onsite in an active construction environment
• Proficiency in Procore or similar construction management platforms

• Based out of New Albany, Ohio on the BCEI Data Center

• $80 to $100 per hour
• Estimated 12-month contract initially
• Overtime rates
