Description
Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control, Special Operations Forces Global Logistics Support Services (SOFGLSS) contract, located in Lexington, KY, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and complete modifications on various military vehicle and aircraft platforms in support of the warfighter. This program, critical to the success of US servicemen and women deployed throughout the world, has a mission to rapidly and properly equip the SOF community and its war fighters with the best possible systems and equipment anywhere in the world.
Responsibilities- Collaborating with lead engineers, project engineers, and systems and design teams to support existing platforms to ensure the customer fleets’ continued operation.
- Reviewing customer requests, deconflicting technical data, determining and developing solutions to issues, submitting and processing necessary documentation.
- Development of component installation, assembly, and part designs and drawings for integration of equipment, including mechanical systems, armor, radios, antennas, transmitters, power equipment, server systems and components, etc.
- Documenting and processing engineering releases and changes.
- Contributing to customer reviews.
- Forward thinking, flexible, motivated, dedicated, detail-focused, team-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking.
This position supports our Special Operations Forces – Global Logistics Support Services contract, which is the U.S. Special Operations Command's (USSOCOM) largest service contract vehicle providing a wide range of tailored logistics, maintenance, and sustainment services. Learn more here: SOF GLSS

Citizenship RequirementsMUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN – This position is located at a facility that requires special access and is in direct support of a U.S. government contract that requires a company-sponsored clearance to start.
Basic Qualifications- Experience with 3D parametric modeling in CATIA, Solid Works or similar software.
- Experience with creation, review, and approval of engineering change documentation.
- Experience creating ANSI/ASME Y14.100 compliant drawings.
- Experience with Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Experience working in an aerospace environment.
- Experience with Catia V5, Creo, Solid Works or other 3D parametric modeling program.
This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part‑time Remote Telework – The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five‑day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
