Coordinator, VDC

Gray Construction is looking to add a VDC Coordinator I to their growing team in Lexington, KY.

The primary role of the VDC Coordinator is to help facilitate the successful implementation of BIM (Building Information Modeling), technology and the related processes. The VDC Coordinator is a key position in the VDC group, focused on helping manage and produce models and providing technology related services and knowledge to the construction and project management teams. They create, obtain, evaluate, coordinate, and distribute 3D BIM models for use by construction.

They work with owners, architects and engineers during pre‑construction and with subcontractors, architects, software vendors during construction to facilitate collaboration and communication through BIM/VDC processes.

A bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a technical college degree. 0–5 years of experience in the AEC industry; experience in the field and/or MEP is a bonus. Knowledge of Autodesk Design Suite and programs such as Assemble, Fuzor, and similar tools is a bonus. Basic understanding of construction principles. Must possess basic computer skills, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite and e‑mail.

Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills. Capable of independent thought and work. Physical presence in Lexington, KY required; travel may be required. The candidate should be energetic, self‑motivated, and thrive in a team environment.

The physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, talking or hearing. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling or crouching, and lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. Close vision is necessary. The work environment is an office setting with moderate noise and controlled temperature/humidity. Overtime may be required.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
