Amteck – BMS/EPMS Project Manager
Reports to the Vice President of Electrical Service. Responsible for end-to-end delivery of building automation projects involving design, installation, integration, commissioning, and handover of building management systems, while ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning & Execution:
Define scope, objectives, deliverables; develop schedules, budgets, and resource plans. - Technical Oversight:
Oversee BMS design reviews, installation, and commissioning; ensure compliance with specifications and building codes; integrate BMS with HVAC, lighting, security, electrical, and fire systems. - Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers; manage vendor selection, contract negotiations, and lead project coordination meetings. - Risk & Quality Management:
Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans; ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality assurance standards. - Testing & Handover:
Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and integrated systems testing (IST); manage project closeout and documentation (as‑built drawings, operation manuals); hand over systems to operations teams. - Financial Management:
Oversee project financials including cost control, forecasting, margin analysis, tracking change orders, and assistance with billing and payments.
- Experience: 3‑5+ years of project management in construction or building services; strong background in BMS and control systems; experience in mission‑critical facilities like data centers is a plus.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep knowledge of BMS platforms (Trend, Tridium, Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls Metasys), HVAC systems, control logic, and integration protocols (BACnet, Modbus).
- Education/
Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls) preferred; PMP, PRINCE2, or BMS certification (BCIA) highly advantageous. - Soft Skills: Excellent leadership and communication; strong organizational and time‑management abilities; high attention to detail; effective problem‑solving and critical‑thinking; adaptability and the ability to work under pressure.
- Other Requirements: Proficiency in MS Project, MS Office Suite, and BMS software tools; knowledge of construction safety regulations (OSHA, CSCS); willingness to travel to construction sites as needed.
- HVAC, Electrical, and Mechanical Systems:
Understanding of actuators, sensors, valves, and dampers. - DDC & Control Logic:
Expertise in DDC technology, control strategies, and sequences of operation. - System Components:
Knowledge of input/output devices, controllers, user interfaces, and communication networks. - Building Codes & Standards:
Familiarity with OSHA and other industry standards to ensure compliance and safety.
