Engineering Section Manager; Water Quality

Salary

Minimum salary: $91,534.56 annually.

This position is exempt and is not eligible for overtime. A compensatory time leave program is available for hours worked over forty hours.

The purpose of this classification is to perform advanced professional engineering, manage capital construction projects and the daily operations of an engineering section in the Divisions of Water Quality.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• Eight (8) years of related experience (additional years of related education may substitute for experience)

• Manages and advises staff
• Manages section budget
• Reviews and approves plans and permit applications for compliance with various ordinances, regulations, and design standards
• Attends associated meetings, hearings, and conferences representing the divisions
• Assists with preparation of funding and budget for projects, programs, and activities
• Writes and reviews policies, procedures, technical documents, project scopes, and contract modifications
• Meets with other engineers, surveyors, contractors, developers, regulators, and attorneys to develop plans for infrastructure and monitor progress
• Addresses inquiries and concerns expressed by citizens, Council, and other organizations or LFUCG divisions
• Performs related work as assigned

All certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.

• Professional Engineer License issued by the State of Kentucky (those with an equivalent license issued by another state must obtain licensure in Kentucky within six (6) months of hire)

All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post‑job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21‑14(b), 22‑13, and 23‑16.
