Engineering Intern – Traffic, Transportation Group, Louisville, KY office.

Internship positions at PRIME provide college students an opportunity to gain real‑world experience in their specific field of study. Interns will work alongside world‑class professionals in a fast‑paced, professional setting, applying knowledge and skills learned through education in a business environment.

• Perform routine aspects of engineering under close supervision on roadway/multimodal/highway/bridge design projects, with possible exposure to inspection.
• Use computer‑assisted engineering software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
• Collect and prepare data for evaluation.
• Assist in project coordination from conception (feasibility) through final plan preparations.
• Provide support to Engineering staff as needed (drafting, computations, reviewing/proofing, field work, etc.).

• Enrolled in an accredited civil engineering program, concentrating in transportation, traffic, or structural bridge design.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule (1–2 days in office).
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Micro Station or Bentley ORD, preferred.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management.
• Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to self‑motivate and work productively without supervision.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
