SALARY
The minimum salary is $91,534.56 annually.
This position is not eligible for overtime (exempt); however, the city has a compensatory time leave program for employees that grants leave time for hours worked in excess of forty hours.
Pay Grade 530

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to perform advanced professional engineering, manage capital construction projects and the daily operations of an engineering section in the Divisions of Water Quality.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor's degree in engineering
* Eight (8) years of related experience
* Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Manages and advises staff
* Manages section budget
* Reviews and approves plans and permit applications for compliance with various ordinances, regulations, and design standards
* Attends associated meetings, hearings, and conferences representing the divisions
* Assists with preparation of funding and budget for projects, programs, and activities
* Writes and reviews policies, procedures, technical documents, project scopes and contract modifications
* Meets with other engineers, surveyors, contractors, developers, regulators and attorneys to develop plans for infrastructure and monitors progress
* Addresses inquiries and concerns expressed by citizens, Council, and other organizations or LFUCG divisions
* Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
All certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.
Professional Engineer License issued by the State of Kentucky; those with an equivalent license issued by another state, must obtain licensure in the State of Kentucky within the six (6) month probationary period.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
