Supervising Civil Engineer

Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal/Supervising Civil Engineer to join our team. In this role you will complete a wide variety of difficult engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses within one discipline. This position is HYBRID and requires a minimum of 2 days in office per week.

• Perform complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.
• Extract engineering information from CAD drawings.
• Prepare engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
• Complete a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
• Frequently interface with other engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
• Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
• Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
• Provide technical guidance to CAD designers/drafters, designers, and lower-level engineers working on the same project.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related field) and typically 8+ years of related work experience.
• Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.
• Potential to perform in a lead capacity, excellent written and oral communication skills, and familiarity with industry practices and regulations.
• Experience in civil infrastructure, including site design, roads, site grading and drainage, utilities, and stormwater design on U.S. government projects.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D is desired.
