Salary
The minimum salary is $91,534.56 annually
. This position is exempt from overtime; however, the city has a compensatory time leave program for hours worked in excess of forty hours.
The purpose of this classification is to perform advanced professional engineering, manage capital construction projects, and oversee the daily operations of an engineering section in the Divisions of Water Quality.
Minimum Requirements- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Eight (8) years of related experience; additional years of related education may substitute for experience
- Manages and advises staff
- Manages section budget
- Reviews and approves plans and permit applications to ensure compliance with ordinances, regulations, and design standards
- Attends related meetings, hearings, and conferences representing the division
- Assists with preparation of funding and budget for projects, programs, and activities
- Writes and reviews policies, procedures, technical documents, project scopes, and contract modifications
- Meets with other engineers, surveyors, contractors, developers, regulators, attorneys, and stakeholders to develop plans for infrastructure and monitor progress
- Addresses inquiries and concerns expressed by citizens, council, and other organizations or LFUCG divisions
- Performs related work as assigned
All certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment. A Professional Engineer license issued by the State of Kentucky is required; those with an equivalent license issued by another state must obtain licensure in Kentucky within the six‑month probationary period.
Special RequirementsAll positions require drug testing and background check before employment. Some positions may require a post‑job offer physical, as stated in Ordinances 21‑14(b), 22‑13, and 23‑16.
