For college students interested in engineering design for the built environment, CMTA offers a robust co‑op program for students pursuing degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Architectural Engineering. The program immerses students for one or more semesters in consulting engineering, providing hands‑on experience with professional engineers in AutoCAD and Revit.

This full‑time onsite position (40 hrs./week) starts in August 2026 and continues through Fall 2026, with dates flexible to the school calendar. Co‑op students may complete multiple rotations and have potential consideration for full‑time employment after graduation.

• Produce detailed layout and equipment details of HVAC systems.
• Produce one‑line diagrams and schematics.
• Assist the design team in assembling organized sets of drawings.
• Assist in data collection and/or field verification.
• Work with designers and engineers to develop all aspects of a project.

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, preferably a sophomore or junior.
• Strong interest in Building Systems Mechanical Engineering.
• AutoCAD and Revit experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work full time in the office throughout the co‑op term.
• Ability to travel locally for job site inspections and field work.
