- Bilingual (Japanese/English) Electrical Engineer / Field Service Engineer
- A leading comprehensive machinery trading company (subsidiary of a major Japanese global group) specializing in industrial machinery, plant equipment, and factory automation (FA) systems for the automotive and energy industries. On behalf of our client, we are seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Electrical Engineer. This role involves electrical design modification, PLC programming/troubleshooting, and on-site field engineering support for major automotive manufacturing clients across the Midwest and Southeastern U.S.
Perform on-site electrical engineering, troubleshooting, and field service for industrial equipment (die-casting, processing machines, assembly lines, leak testers, etc.).
Modify, program, and troubleshoot PLC systems (experience with Mitsubishi, Keyence, FANUC, or similar systems is highly preferred).
Coordinate technical specifications between Japanese machinery manufacturers and US-based manufacturing plants (Tier 1/Tier 2 automotive clients).
Provide timely technical support and maintenance solutions, requiring frequent business travel to client sites.
Communicate smoothly in both Japanese and English to bridge communication gaps between the headquarters in Japan, local management, and US clients.
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Typical business hours, subject to change based on project demands and travel schedules).
On-site / Field-oriented (Frequent business travel required).
[ Working Location ]- Lexington, KY (Priority given to local residents, but candidates residing in the Greater Cincinnati area who can commute/travel are also considered).
$100,000 - $110,000 / year (Depending on experience)

Language: Native-level or fluent in both Japanese and English (Business to Advanced level for technical and commercial discussions).
Technical
Skills:
Strong experience in PLC programming, electrical design modification, and troubleshooting of factory automation (FA) systems.
Experience: Ideally 10 to 20 years of hands-on experience in electrical/field engineering within the automotive or heavy machinery industries.
Soft Skills: High resilience ("toughness" / grit), strong communication skills, and a production-control/field-oriented mindset.
Must be willing to travel extensively across the Midwest and East Coast regions.
