Job Role s And Responsibilities
Lead and assume responsibility for the preparation of site development engineering drawings, including technical review and professional stamping of engineering design drawings.
Prepare construction specifications, geometric layouts, profiles, cross sections, grading designs, drainage calculations, utility and erosion control designs, preliminary and construction plans, and quantity or cost estimates.
Guide projects through their entire lifecycle, including preliminary or conceptual design, detailed design, scheduling, tendering, and construction.
Coordinate designs with stormwater management engineers and incorporate stormwater designs into land development drawings.
Liaise with internal and external clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to determine project requirements, permits, and approvals.
Coordinate work of junior land development staff and review their deliverables.
Act as the main client contact on assigned projects, managing project schedules, budgets, and reporting.
Ensure that client needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner, adhering to applicable specifications and standards of the governing municipality.
Participate in site visits and client or public meetings.
Qualifications And CertificationsBachelors or Master of Science in Civil Engineering required.
Professional Engineer certification required, with the ability to obtain registration in the local jurisdiction.
5-10 years of site development design experience in a consulting environment including site design, cost estimating, hydrology, grading, and utility design.
Thorough understanding of land development, including site grading, sanitary and storm sewer servicing, water servicing, shallow utility coordination, road, and parking design.
Project management experience working with a team of engineers and designers to complete successful projects on time and within budget.
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, including Storm Sewers and Hydroflow for hydrology design.
Self-motivated individual possessing strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy, and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
Ability to coordinate engineering requirements across multiple disciplines.
