Machine Maintenance Specialist
Join our team as a Machine Maintenance Specialist in Lexington, KY! We have partnered with a leading CNC Machine Tool Builder in need of CNC Field Service Engineers. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of CNC machine tools across various customer sites nationwide. Your expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, diagnostic skills, and customer-centric approach will be key to delivering top-notch service.
This position reports to the CNC Field Service Manager and is available for candidates located East of the Mississippi, preferably near an airport or in states like IL, TN, KY, AL, and OH.
- Implement new CNC machine tool systems with all options and accessories at customer locations
- Conduct machine leveling, geometry checks, and final adjustments to ensure optimal performance
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and application-related issues
- Identify root causes of problems and propose repair or replacement solutions
- Offer technical support through various communication channels, both on-site and remotely
- Assist customers, distributors, and internal teams with technical advice and issue resolution
- Deliver training to customers and aid in project coordination when necessary
- Provide service support at trade shows and company events as needed
- Maintain comprehensive service documentation and reports
- Travel extensively, including overnight stays and occasional weekend travel
- Perform any other required duties
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC machine tool maintenance and service (both electrical and mechanical aspects)
- At least 5 years of experience providing remote technical support in the machine tool industry
- Demonstrated expertise in installing and servicing machining centers, including leveling and geometric alignment
- Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting
- Experience with CNC control systems, particularly FANUC controls
- Sound knowledge of power circuits and industrial electrical systems
- Strong skills in troubleshooting, communication, and customer service
- Willingness to travel extensively during weekdays (up to 100%) and work independently
