Work location

In general, Monday to Thursday on site with colleagues. On Fridays, you may choose your work location based on what your work requires.

Design Special Support Engineer at Trane Technologies. Our brands create access to cooling and comfort in buildings and homes, transport and protect food and perishables, connect customers to elevated performance with less environmental impact, and reduce energy demands while innovating for a better world.

The Design Special Support Engineer will enable the sales of Airside products through cross-functional knowledge sharing, complex problem-solving, and innovative decision-making.

• Support offering the right mix of products, systems, solutions, and competitive intelligence tools to drive the growth of the Airside business.
• Serve as an advisor to product support and portfolio management teams on product and process capabilities.
• Provide knowledgeable specialized solutions for the Airside portfolio.
• Collaborate in a team environment with in-person presence at least 3 days a week.

• Support special design requests, custom designs, and creating associated custom submittal drawings.
• Work with internal or external customers on design specials/technical/systems/application engineering/customer specification/job expediting and pricing questions.
• Act as Airside subject matter expert through technical and application knowledge of products and understanding of competitor offerings.
• Advance knowledge through personal development goals.
• Collaborate with product engineering, application engineering, manufacturing, product support teams, and product management to align on design direction.
• Partner with Product Management on pricing strategy execution to meet goals.
• Leverage Lean thinking and project management on diverse projects including product development, partnerships, and marketing literature.
• Assist with commercialization plans for new and existing Airside products.
• Coach and develop product support team members with customer, product, and process knowledge.
• Provide additional product support via email, phone, and Zendesk as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field required. Electrical engineering experience and/or MBA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing sectors (product management, engineering, marketing/sales, or field support).
• Effective decision-making under pressure; strong communication with internal and external customers.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time-sensitive tasks and projects.
• Proficient PC and end-user software:
  Creo, AutoCAD, Revit, Zendesk, Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Adobe.
• HVAC industry experience and Lean/Six Sigma experience preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Annual Base Salary Range: $89,585.00 - $. Compensation may be impacted by factors such as location, experience, and education. Benefits kick in on DAY ONE for you and your family, including health insurance and wellness programs. Specific benefits may vary by region and collective bargaining agreements.
