Job Description
A client is seeking a Protection & Controls Engineer for a long-term contract that can sit in Lexington or Louisville, KY. This position will join a team of engineers that support capital projects associated with updating and building new substations for distribution and transmission projects. The daily functions of this role include reviewing prints/designs of substations, collaborating with internal and external partners, and some mentorship of engineers on the team.
Additional projects this engineer could support include equipment replacements of aging infrastructure, controls and relay updates and relay replacements. They could also deal with environmental regulations for greenfield projects to ensure they are following codes. Strong electrical and communication/project management skills are required to be successful in this role.

- Engineering degree (Preferred Electrical Engineering, but would take Mechanical or Civil degrees)
- Protection and Controls (P&C) experience
- Knowledge of substation designs and greenfield development projects
- Utility experience
- Strong project management and communication skills
- Knowledge of SCADA systems
- Automation/scripting skills
- Experience with equipment like relay panels and RTUs
