The Senior Project Manager plays a key leadership role in winning new business, managing projects, and developing staff within the Healthcare and Commercial practice. This individual provides technical, engineering, and business leadership while ensuring the successful delivery of projects across healthcare, commercial, institutional, and related market sectors. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for achieving high levels of customer satisfaction by ensuring expectations are clearly communicated and managed, both externally and internally.
The successful candidate creates a dynamic team environment through mentoring, coaching, collaboration, and clear communication. This person actively supports the business development process through proposal development, networking, customer engagement, conferences, and strategic pursuits, effectively communicating KFI's value proposition and differentiators.
Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Oversee and participate in the engineering and delivery of projects to ensure KFI quality standards, customer satisfaction, and financial objectives are achieved.
- Actively manage assigned projects from initiation through completion, utilizing effective delegation, accountability, and personal execution as needed.
- Allocate department resources to ensure effective utilization, workload balancing, and employee development.
- Ensure new opportunities are properly defined, scoped, priced, and aligned with client needs and KFI objectives.
- Actively contribute to business development activities, including proposal preparation, interviews, conferences, industry engagement, and client meetings.
- Participate in monthly marketing and business development activities as appropriate.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Designers, Engineers, Project Managers, and other staff members.
- Provide overall staff direction, facilitate goal setting, conduct performance reviews, and hold regular one-on-one meetings.
- Ensure the development and coaching of talent needed to meet current and future organizational objectives.
- Provide technical and engineering support to other departments and disciplines and conduct quality reviews as needed.
- Review project invoices and ensure accurate, timely billing activities.
- Travel to project sites and client locations as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 10+ years of professional engineering and project leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex facility projects and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory or people-management experience; ability to develop and lead Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers.
- Strong proficiency in mechanical, electrical, or related building systems design.
- Strong working knowledge of design and construction processes, building systems, contract management, and project delivery methods.
- Basic understanding of Architectural, Electrical, Civil, and Structural Engineering construction practices.
- Superior project management skills and knowledge of related tools and processes.
- Proven ability to build strong client relationships and establish credibility with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to present complex information to diverse audiences, synthesize ideas into actionable recommendations, and positively influence outcomes.
