ABOUT JOSEPHINE SCULPTURE PARK

Josephine Sculpture Park (JSP) is a distinctive landscape where art, nature, and community intersect. Founded in 2009 on Melanie Van Houten’s family farm and named in honor of her grandmother, Josephine, JSP is the only park of its kind in Kentucky.

Spanning 40 acres, the Park features more than 80 rotating large‑scale sculptures set among mowed walking paths and wildlife habitat. JSP’s mission is to connect people to one another and to the land through the arts. The Park fulfills this mission by providing creative arts and nature‑based education to the community, offering transformative opportunities for artists, and conserving the beauty of Kentucky’s rural landscape.

The vision is to be a leader in our community that respects and reflects all voices and ideas through shared, creative experiences and responsible land stewardship practices. The Park’s staff, board, and volunteers are deeply committed to advancing social justice and cultural equity, fostering an inclusive environment where all individuals feel safe, welcomed, and empowered to play, create, and heal together.

Josephine Sculpture Park is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
