Job Summary
The Human Development Institute ( HDI ) at the University of Kentucky is Kentucky’s Center on Disability.
HDI is seeking a Financial Specialist to ensure accurate and compliant fiscal operations through comprehensive transaction processing, financial reporting, and collaborative support for staff and leadership.
Responsibilities- Process accounting transactions and maintain financial documentation across multiple funding sources to support accurate, timely, and compliant fiscal operations.
- Apply University of Kentucky financial systems and policies, along with state and federal regulations, to review transactions, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance.
- Generate financial reports, monitor transaction accuracy, and participate in reconciliation activities to support strong financial oversight and documentation integrity.
- Provide guidance to staff, support process improvement efforts, and collaborate with the Financial Specialist Lead and team members to enhance operational efficiency and financial stewardship.
The ideal candidate would possess comprehensive knowledge of University of Kentucky systems (e.g., PRD, SRM, Concur, JV, SAP, Tableau) and state and federal regulations to ensure all financial transactions are accurate, timely, and compliant.
Physical RequirementsWhile there are physical, psychosocial and cognitive requirements of the position, the job duties can be accommodated for essential functions being completed in a variety of ways.
ShiftMonday-Friday; 8:00 am-5:00 pm.
