Position: Controller (Construction Industry) Relocation Package Available

Controller Position

VALiNTRY is looking for a seasoned, detail-driven Controller to lead and manage all financial operations of our organization. This role will oversee financial planning and analysis, budgeting, accounting functions, and the preparation of accurate financial reports. The salary range for this position is $140,000 to $160,000 per year. If you possess additional valuable skill sets that could benefit the enterprise, you may be eligible for higher compensation.

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership abilities, extensive knowledge of financial systems, proven experience in construction accounting, and a track record of enhancing operational efficiency and financial performance. As a key member of our leadership team, this position requires strategic insight, clear communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

This role will be based in Lexington, Kentucky.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all accounting and financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, and cash flow management.
  • Deliver financial analysis and actionable insights to support strategic decision-making and improve operational efficiency.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and protection of company assets.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with department leaders to set clear financial targets and objectives.
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic financial plans aligned with the company's long-term goals.
  • Manage and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including auditors, lenders, and investors.
  • Monitor industry trends and changes in accounting regulations to ensure ongoing compliance and inform financial strategy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management or Controller-level roles.
  • Direct experience in Construction Accounting, including Progressive Billing, WIP reporting, and Job Costing.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and analysis.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Exceptional analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency with financial management software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience in the renewable energy sector is a plus.
