This is a full-time, on-site Loan Officer role based in Lexington, KY. The Loan Officer will guide borrowers through the mortgage process from initial inquiry to closing, including prequalifying applicants, gathering documentation, and explaining loan options in clear, accessible terms. Daily responsibilities include originating residential mortgage loans, assessing borrower eligibility, coordinating with underwriting, and ensuring compliance with applicable lending regulations and company policies.
The role involves close collaboration with real estate agents, internal processing teams, and other stakeholders to deliver timely, accurate loan decisions. A strong focus on customer service, proactive communication, and follow-up is essential to create a positive lending experience and build long-term client relationships.
- Experience in Loan Officer roles or similar mortgage lending positions, with a solid understanding of loan origination processes.
- Knowledge of finance and mortgage industry fundamentals, including credit analysis, income evaluation, and loan products.
- Familiarity with underwriting guidelines and risk assessment to effectively structure and present loan files.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly, build rapport, and manage borrower expectations.
- Proven experience in loan origination, including prospecting, application intake, and pipeline management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, compliance-focused environment, with proficiency in mortgage software and basic office tools.
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred.
- Current mortgage licensing or ability to obtain and maintain required state and NMLS licenses in accordance with regulations.
