Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic finance function for the MPC or MPLX business segment
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, including the CEO, CFO, and senior business leaders
- Provide financial leadership and analytical oversight for growth initiatives, capital investments, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and portfolio optimization
- Develop complex financial models and evaluate investment opportunities, risk, return, and capital allocation decisions
- Oversee the Authorization Request process for investments over $5 million and monitor approved projects through construction and development
- Support financial and modeling discussions with consultants, advisors, and investment banks
- Coordinate investment activities across Business Development, Strategy, Operations, Economics, Finance, Treasury, Credit, Insurance, Tax, and Accounting
- Develop, train, and mentor analysts and elevate business acumen within Strategic Finance
- Research and maintain expertise in financial evaluation techniques and financing practices
- Conduct scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and Monte Carlo analysis for project and portfolio risk assessment
- Build and maintain a high-performing team, set goals, monitor performance, and coach and develop team members
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting required
- Master’s degree (MBA) and/or Advanced degree preferred
- 12+ years of work experience in finance, economics, or accounting required
- Experience with financial modeling and/or analytical analysis preferred
Demonstrates expertise in financial leadership, strategic finance, and complex financial modeling to drive growth initiatives and optimize capital allocation. Proven ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams while providing analytical oversight for investment opportunities and risk assessment.
