The minimum hourly rate is $25.190 per hour

This position is non-exempt and is eligible for overtime

• Bachelor's degree in urban or physical planning, public administration, geography, architecture, landscape architecture, or another related field; and, a minimum of six (6) years of related planning experience; or, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid Driver's License

• American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification preferred

The purpose of this classification is to perform professional, technical, and analytical planning in regards to urban and regional planning activities in a specified area to help develop the community.

• Prepares staff reports for zone change and text amendment applications
• Presents staff recommendations to the Planning Commission at public hearings
• Leads and facilitates staff meetings and public input meetings
• Gathers, researches, and assembles data to make valid conclusions and use for decision making and planning
• Leads and participate s in special department or division-wide projects to implement community plans and improve the development process
• Develops plans to carry out functions of a specified project
• Formulates policies and develops and updates plans and regulations as needed
• Represents the division at events such as boards, commissions, and meetings
• Prepares written reports that detail critical elements of plans
• Responds to public and private inquires related to various projects as they arise
• Performs related work as assigned
