ResponsibilitiesThe Psychology Post-Doctoral Fellow will be under the direction by a Licensed Psychologist to provide supervised psychological services. This may include forensic evaluations, group and individual psychotherapy interventions, psychological assessment, crisis intervention, behavior support services, consultation, and education to patients with mental illness in a recovery-based inpatient setting all while working alongside Licensed Psychologists.
Conducts forensic evaluations as ordered. Provides individual and group therapy, conducts psychological testing, testifies in court or completes petitions or certifications for extended hospitalization. Consults with the treatment team on various mental health issues, including treatment recommendations and diagnostic impressions.
Partners and collaborates with management and others to ensure compliance with Federal, state, local rules, regulations, laws, etc.;
Hospital Policies, Procedures, etc. This includes active participation in required training activities such as supervision and structured learning activities. Exhibits personal engagement in Patient and Employee Satisfaction initiatives. Has current understanding of Patient and Employee Satisfaction Scores and goals in work area. Takes ownership for comments as applicable, initiates self and team improvement plans. Fosters and models interdisciplinary team collaboration to achieve desired clinical outcomes and improve culture.
Expresses and demonstrates willingness to assist team and other departments during increased capacity by being flexible with schedule and willing to work in other areas.
Functions as a part of a recovery team and maintains an integrated services system that focuses on patient recovery, collaborates with other disciplines, departments, and treatment teams, and ensures a collaborative approach to patient care. Works directly with clinical and non-clinical staff in resolving patient problems and service issues. Ensure high level of satisfaction from patients related to services. Facilitate communication of the philosophy of a customer-focused environment and the expectation of service excellence.
Participates in goal of restraint-free patient environment. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Maintains Professional and Technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing professional networks; participating in professional societies; maintaining professional certifications and licenses; completing required annual training within established time frames.
This position would start on 09/26/2026 and conclude on 09/29/2028. Work hours may vary. Other related duties, as assigned.
QualificationsMust have a doctoral degree (PhD, PsyD) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology and eligible for licensure as a Licensed Psychologist (temporary) prior to hire date. Applicants will work under the direct supervision of a Licensed Psychologist with Health Service Provider designation in accordance with the Kentucky Board of Examiners requirements. One year of experience is preferred, pre-doctoral internship experience is accepted.

Experience:
PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
Psychological Assessment, Psychotherapy, Microsoft Office. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, honest, trustworthy, and have a strong work ethic. Must enjoy working in a team, but also be able to take direction and communicate effectively with staff, patients and their family members independently. In addition, must also be confident and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. Candidate will also need strong organizational, prioritization, basic computer navigation skills, and a working knowledge of the Internet.
