Required License/Registration/CertificationLicensure through the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board of Respiratory Care at time of hire.
Physical RequirementsThe ability to regularly lift, carry, push and/or pull 25-100 lbs., as well as stand, walk, and sit at a computer workstation for extended periods of time. The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments, and occasional job‑related travel.
ShiftThis is a night shift position, 7:00pm – 7:30am, with required weekends, holidays and on‑call hours.
Job SummaryThe Respiratory Care Supervisor will be responsible for the immediate supervision of technical and clinical operations for Respiratory Care Services. This individual will review work schedules and ensure efficient day‑to‑day operations for each modality, as well as quality assurance of patient care services. The supervisor will also serve as a resource and mentor for staff and a liaison for Respiratory Care staff throughout the hospital.
Additional duties will include quality, compliance, customer service, and staff management. The supervisor will rotate weekend call to provide off‑hours emergency support for the department.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills; extensive knowledge of various computer programs; exceptional leadership skills; and extensive adult critical care skills and knowledge.
Preferred Education / ExperienceA Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of adult critical care experience.
