Patient Food Service Associate (Apostolic Christian Village)

AVI Food systems is looking for a dedicated Patient Food Service Associate to join our team at Apostolic Christian Village in Rittman, OH. This Full-time position is vital in providing meal service delivery to patients, managing dietary requirements and upholding high-quality standards of service.

Career Path: Working as a dietary aide is often a starting point for those pursuing careers in nursing, nutrition, or healthcare management, providing valuable experience in a customer service environment.

Full-time scheduled hours for this position:

  • 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Rotating Weekends and Holidays

Starting wage is $15/hr.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Take patient menu selections and ensure compliance with prescribed diets (e.g., low-sodium, diabetic).
  • Assemble meal trays according to specific diet orders, deliver accurately and timely to patient rooms, and retrieving them after mealtimes.
  • Helping patients open containers, arrange utensils and communicate dietary concerns to nursing staff
  • Observe and record patients’ food and liquid intake
  • Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, wash dishes and maintain kitchen equipment to meet health and safety regulations

Requirements:

  • Entry level, training provided
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to follow instructions and strong attention to detail
  • Physical stamina for prolonged standing, walking and ability to push heavy food delivery carts
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse patients and staff
