Trauma/Gen Surgery Night Shift
The Trauma/Gen Surgery Night shift APP works within the adult ICU/progressive care/acute care areas and is an integral member of a multidisciplinary health care team. The APP functions primarily managing critically and acutely ill adults and serves as a resource throughout UKHC for intensive care interventions.
The APP is generally on a service‑aligned team and manages day‑to‑day patient care from ICU to step‑down to discharge. In some instances the APP may have responsibilities for the same patient population as they return for follow‑up in the outpatient setting. The APP has a strong foundation in evidence‑based practice and education and is responsible for ensuring an environment of safe, quality care.
The APP demonstrates an advanced level of:
- Medical and nursing knowledge
- Clinical and technical competency
- Sound clinical judgment
- Professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills
- Timely and compliant documentation
- Responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation
*** This particular role works night shift primarily.
Qualifications- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) Certification or enrollment in a Post‑Master’s ACNP program within one year of hire
- Physician Assistant‑Certified (PA‑C)
- Seven 12‑hour shifts per pay period.
- Night shifts, from 6 PM – 6:30 AM.
