Shriners Children's Lexington has a full‑time Department Assistant (Revenue Cycle) position available.
This position assists in the scheduling and registering of established patients (backup for new patients) according to the established policies and procedures adopted by the Patient Access Department and in accordance with the Medical Centers policies and procedures.
ResponsibilitiesThis position will provide receptionist and clerical support for the Patient Access department, including:
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient information within the guidelines established by the department and hospital.
- Destroys all patient information according to departmental guidelines.
- Consistently removes confidential data from the computer screen and/or secures confidential data on desk(s).
- Escorts and directs patients/families to appropriate areas of the hospital.
- Ensures that all patients are registered timely, and according to the established guidelines adopted by the department and Medical Center.
- Exhibits a courteous/friendly disposition to families/patients at all times.
- Accurately verifies all demographic and insurance information on front end.
- Consistently obtains all proper consent forms.
- Assists in completing insurance verification and pre‑registration queues when needed.
- Ensures that orders received are scheduled timely and according to the established guidelines adopted by the department and hospital. Requests will be handled via email and voicemails.
Education:
High School Diploma/GED Required
Experience:
Computer knowledge required
One year of scheduling/registration in a healthcare setting preferred
