- Physical Requirements Regularly standing or walking, intermittent work at a computer for extended periods of time with repetitive motion. Occasional lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 50 pounds.
- Shift 40 hours per week, primary shift to be determined by the department (may start as early as 6:30am or start later in the morning and work until 6:00pm or later). Must be available to work rotating weekends and holidays.

The Laboratory Scientist, Certified will be responsible for performing laboratory testing in a fast‑paced academic medical center. The Laboratory provides services to all aspects of the Level I trauma center and throughout the healthcare enterprise, including KY Children’s Hospital, and Markey Cancer Center. This position is responsible for the testing and maintenance of high‑complexity laboratory tests performed in the Cytogenetics Laboratory with a focus on Chromosome Analysis and Fluorescent InSitu Hybridization (FISH) Analysis.
Additionally, this position will troubleshoot and maintain instrumentation, provide guidance with design and implementation of experiments, and assist with additional projects as needed. This is a team‑oriented environment, and a successful candidate will be able to work independently and as a team.

Preferred Education & Experience- MLS or Bachelor’s Degree in science with an ASCP certification (CG ASCP certification preferred).
