Description:
This position is for a head, neck, and plastics unit.
The nurse will be required to float to different areas as needed.
Weekend coverage is mandatory.
The candidate must have experience in a Progressive Care Unit and telemetry.
The required certifications include Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Basic Life Support, and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale.
The patient population includes individuals with head, neck, oral, and breast cancers, as well as other oncology medical-surgical patients.
Special procedures will include post-operative flap care and chemotherapy administration.
The nurse will work with an interdisciplinary team that includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
The nurse will manage a patient ratio of 3 patients per nurse.
Key skills include wound care, telemetry, and management of intravenous lines.
The candidate should have experience in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias.
