Required License/Registration/Certification:
Registered Sonographer – RDMS and/or RT at time of hire;
Basic Life Support certification via AHA within 90 days of hire.

Shift

The shift could vary, requiring weekend, holiday, and emergency coverage. Call response is required.

Job Summary

The Radiology Sonographer will work in the Imaging Services Department of Good Samaritan Hospital providing high quality and efficient customer service to patients. Responsibilities include treating all customers with respect, maintaining privacy and confidentiality, promoting a positive work environment, and communicating regarding all aspects of care.

Additional Duties

This position requires acquiring or maintaining ARDMS certification to ensure compliance with ACR accreditation, maintaining required licensing with continuing education, and complying with all departmental, state, and federal regulations.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
  • Recent clinical ultrasound experience (within past 12 months) and/or completion of a sonography program preferred.
  • Extensive customer service experience with calm, helpful communication during stressful or crisis situations.
  • Knowledge of PACS, RIS, ultrasound physics, anatomy, physiology, and pathology desired.
