Job Description:
Serving as a member of the multidisciplinary oncology team, the oncology dietitian in the outpatient setting provides nutritional services to cancer patients across the continuum of the cancer experience including identification of cancer patients at nutritional risk, provision of appropriate medical nutrition therapy for patients actively undergoing cancer treatment, primary prevention, secondary prevention, cancer recurrence, palliative care and community education. Collects, summarizes and reports data regarding patient care as related to nutrition services.
The following list is not intended to be an all-exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities required and are subject to change from time to time. Additionally, other duties may be assigned at the discretion of leadership to meet business, customer, and/or patient needs.
- Provide oncology nutrition services to BHLEX outpatient chemotherapy infusion clinic, radiation oncology, oncology physician offices, outpatient oncology centers located in outlying areas of BHLEX service area and other areas that may be identified.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of nutrition intervention / monitoring and evaluation in the patient's medical record and ensure that this information is communicated with other members of the health care team involved in the patient's care.
- Provide oncology nutrition knowledge and expertise to the health care team.
- Work in partnership with health-care team and community to provide continuity of nutrition services for clients and their families across the cancer continuum.
- Bachelor's Degree of Dietetics.
- Minimum Experience - 1 year.
- Certified as Dietitian in Kentucky.
Full-Time 32 weekly hours (0.8 FTE) - 40 weekly hours (1.0 FTE)
