* ** Job Summary
** Provides assistance to physicians in the application, maintenance and removal of casts, traction, Ilizarov device and other splint or motion device as prescribed. Informs patients / families, staff and students about the use and care of casts, traction and Ilizarov devices; monitors and orders casting and traction supplies and equipment.
** Key Responsibilities*
* * Performs direct and indirect patient care activities within the scope of practice of an Orthopedic Technician
* Performs casting, traction and Ilizarov services under the direction and supervision of an Attending Orthopedic Surgeon
* Demonstrates open, accurate and timely communication with patients/families and interdisciplinary team members to ensure effective therapeutic intervention. Maintains competency, adheres to standards of practice, recognizes own learning needs to maximize professional development and optimal patient care
** Required Qualifications
*** High School Diploma/GED
** Preferred Qualifications
*** 1+ years Orthopedic Technician experience
Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
