Job Summary:

The HR Benefits Assistant associate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the HR department, with a focus on onboarding, benefits administration, and off-boarding. This role will be located at our St. Henry office.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding, to include paperwork completion and orientation.
  • Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations in payroll and benefits platforms.
  • Respond to associate questions regarding health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability and retirement benefits.
  • Coordinate distribution of benefits materials and communications.
  • Support annual open enrollment and wellness initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date associate records.
  • Assist with audits, invoice reconciliations, and compliance reporting (COBRA, ACA, etc.).
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Customer-focused with a helpful, team-oriented attitude.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or related field preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times (e.g., office supplies, files).
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching as needed.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (computers, phones, printers, copiers).
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to employee questions and read documentation.
