SUPERVISED BY:
Director, Human Resources
Applies expertise in all functional areas of Human Resources. Provides guidance and support to leadership on day-to-day general employee relations issues. Facilitates talent acquisition and on-boarding for 2-3 branch locations.
Duties And Responsibilities- Works closely with hiring leaders to develop and implement initiatives for recruiting talent to include sourcing and evaluating candidates, obtaining and conducting references and facilitating a positive candidate experience.
- Processes includes representing Benjamin Steel at area job fairs, job postings advertising using electronic media and print, scouring job search websites, conducting background checks, scheduling drug screens, coordinating the employee referral program, and maximizing services received from outside services.
- Collaborates with local leadership regarding employee retention issues and conflict resolution.
- Coordinates new hire orientations at all locations and ensures effective on-boarding.
- Facilitates the new hire surveys and exit interviews, summarizes results, and recommends improvements.
- Serves as the first point of contact for employees regarding benefits (medical, dental, STD, LTD, FMLA, 401(k), and Gainsharing plans, etc., pay, performance reviews, iSolved, and other HR practices.
- Ensures employment practices are aligned with federal and state employment laws, Benjamin Steel core values and public policy.
- Administers ancillary welfare benefits to include Wellness, seasonal employee programs such as picnics, service awards, celebrations, cookouts, etc.
- Good attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Performs other duties as related or assigned to benefit the Company (To include driving and travel).
Bachelor's Degree in related field (communications, business or related experience in Human Resources (3-5 years) plus 3-5 years' experience with employment recruiting, training and compliance. HR Certification preferred
Knowledge,Skills And Abilities
Valid driver's license and insurable motor vehicle record and ability to travel overnight to branch locations, as necessary.
Strong knowledge of Affimative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII, FML, and professional employment practices.
Demonstrated success managing confidential information and demonstrated commitment to Benjamin's Core Performance Factors.
Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, organizational, and software skills applying a strong sense of urgency and commitment to customer service with the ability to act tactically and strategically.
