At AMERICAN BOARD OF FAMILY MEDICINE INC in Lexington, KY, the Human Resource Manager plays a central role in building and sustaining an effective, compliant workplace. This position organizes core HR operations and works closely with leadership to connect HR strategy to organizational priorities, supporting a positive, high-performing culture for staff.
In this onsite role, you will manage essential people programs across recruiting, performance, compensation, benefits, training coordination, and employment compliance. With a focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and internal controls, you will help ensure HR processes run reliably while meeting wage and hour requirements and broader regulatory expectations.
What you’ll do- Oversee payroll processing, tax filings, and related compliance activities.
- Ensure compensation structures are accurate and manage salary administration.
- Manage benefit deductions and employer contributions.
- Conduct compensation analysis and workforce cost modeling to support decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws.
- Organize employee standards and procedures using existing human resource systems.
- Oversee recruitment, hiring processes, onboarding, and offboarding.
- Maintain the personnel manual, human resource policies, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulatory requirements.
- Manage staff benefits administration and vendor relationships.
- Oversee performance management processes and support consistent execution.
- Support supervisors with staff relations matters.
- Maintain personnel records and confidential documentation with appropriate controls.
- Coordinate training and professional development initiatives.
- Maintain appropriate internal controls in payroll and HR functions.
- Oversee workers’ compensation, including the annual workers’ compensation audit and unemployment claims.
- Monitor employment compliance and reporting requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s preferred. - 5–10 years of human resource experience.
- SHRM Certification preferred.
- Experience with HRIS systems and payroll software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- High integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to partner with leadership to align HR efforts to organizational goals.
