Agility Partners is seeking a qualified Systems Engineer specializing in Mainframe Infrastructure (CICS/MQ) for a position with one of our banking clients. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a team dedicated to ensuring the stability and performance of critical mainframe systems across diverse environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in CICS and MQ on z/OS, driving innovation in a high-impact, enterprise-scale setting.
This position is ideal for individuals passionate about systems engineering and eager to contribute to modernization and resiliency efforts. Key responsibilities include managing and administering CICS and MQ for z/OS subsystems across Parallel Sysplex and CECS environments, prototyping and implementing new features and technologies for mainframe applications, troubleshooting and resolving application system issues in collaboration with development teams, maintaining system performance through tuning, upgrades, and continuous improvement, and providing 24x7 on-call support as part of a team rotation.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
- 7+ years of experience as a systems mainframe engineer supporting CICS or MQ on z/OS.
- Proficiency with tools such as BMC Catalog Manager, IBM CICS Interdependency Analyzer, and SMPE.
- Strong understanding of mainframe performance tuning, high availability, and disaster recovery planning.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across all organizational levels.
- Experience with DB2, CTG, REXX scripting, and vendor coordination is highly desired.
