Obrela is seeking a skilled Managed Defense Engineer with strong hands‑on experience in Imperva security solutions
, particularly Web Application Firewall (WAF), Cloud WAF, and Database Activity Monitoring (DAM). The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in cybersecurity engineering, web application security, networking, and database security, with the ability to design, deploy, and maintain security controls in complex enterprise environments.
- Implemented, managed, and tuned Imperva WAF, Cloud WAF, and DAM solutions across on‑premises and cloud environments, with a strong focus on Database Activity Monitoring
. - Designed and enforced security controls to protect web applications and databases from internal and external threats.
- Monitored security events, analyzed alerts, and conducted root‑cause analysis to reduce false positives and improve detection accuracy.
- Supported regulatory compliance initiatives including PCI DSS, SOX, GDPR, and HIPAA through monitoring, auditing, and reporting.
- Applied core cybersecurity principles such as defense‑in‑depth, least privilege, and secure‑by‑design architectures.
- Collaborated with application, infrastructure, cloud, and database teams to integrate security solutions into production environments.
- Developed and maintained technical documentation
, runbooks, and integration guides for security platforms and workflows. - Provided technical guidance and support to internal teams and customers on security best practices and platform usage.
- Imperva WAF (On‑Prem & Cloud)

- SSL/TLS inspection and certificate management

- TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS
- Routing fundamentals
- Reverse proxies and load balancers
- Web traffic flow analysis
- Database architecture and administration concepts
- Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL (or similar)
- Database auditing, monitoring, and compliance use cases
- EDR/XDR platforms and alert analysis
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex security issues.
- Experience working in an engineering-focused role
