Overview

Job Title

Electronics Technician II – W-TRS, Fairdale, Kentucky

Responsibilities
  • Under minimal supervision, perform scheduled, preventive, and corrective maintenance on TADSS, STE Devices, and GFP.
  • Inform government of maintenance timelines and notify when personnel need to travel for maintenance or to support increased demand.
  • Ensure maintenance tasks do not conflict with training, exercises, and testing; record activities in real time in InSite.
  • Adhere to warranty terms, track part numbers, serial numbers, and location.
  • Set up and test TADSS and STE Devices, including interoperability and operation verification.
  • Monitor hardware baselines and revert to previous versions if updates fail.
  • Analyze maintenance trends, track component consumption, manage obsolescence, implement risk management strategies, and conduct failure analysis to reduce risks and improve reliability.
  • Install modifications or upgrade kits per manufacturer instructions.
  • Serve as a preventive rover for unstaffed sites.
  • Install and maintain software and hardware, manage patches, and ensure security compliance for installed applications and operating systems.
TDL Specifics
  • Support three primary missions:
    Steady‑state Training Support, Point of Need operations, and Surge Support.
Steady‑state Training Support
  • Support Soldiers in planning training exercises in the TMT software, coordinating and aligning training equipment and RVCT modules.
  • Initialize and troubleshoot the local RVCT training network.
  • Provide on‑hand training during execution and exercise control functions, such as role‑play or intelligence reports.
  • Deliver After‑Action Reviews and take‑home packages for lessons learned.
Point of Need Training
  • Prepare equipment for shipment, transportation, and setup, including initializing and troubleshooting at the point of need location.
  • Provide execution support and After‑Action Review with take‑home package.
  • After exercise completion, prepare for return shipment and re‑setup of equipment on the original site.
Surge Support
  • Shift personnel from other locations to support training exceeding a site's current personnel capacity.
  • Support up to 28 modules of RVCT or two companies for a limited period.
Travel

Travel required up to 30% of time, including OCONUS.

Qualifications
  • Education:

    2 years + BA/BS or 1 year + MA/MS; 4 years + AA; or 6+ years experience with no degree.
  • Certification:
    Basic Electronic Technical Certificate.
  • Experience performing scheduled, preventive, and corrective maintenance on TADSS and GFP under minimal supervision.
  • Experience informing government of maintenance timelines and travel notification.
  • Experience ensuring maintenance tasks do not conflict with training, exercises, and testing; recording in real time in InSite.
  • Experience adhering to warranty terms, tracking parts, and testing TADSS for functionality.
  • Experience monitoring hardware baselines and updating, analyzing maintenance trends, managing obsolescence, implementing risk management and failure analysis.
  • Experience installing modifications or upgrade kits and serving as preventive rover for unstaffed sites.
  • Experience installing and maintaining software and hardware, managing patches, and ensuring security compliance.
  • Experience with Steady‑state Training Support, Point of Need, Surge Support preferred.
  • Preferred STE Device knowledge.
