Deputy Sheriff - Rockbridge County & Lexington City
The Office of the Sheriff for Rockbridge County and Lexington City is seeking professional, motivated, and dedicated individuals interested in a career in law enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff
.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to successfully complete a thorough background investigation
- Ability to successfully complete a physical examination
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior law enforcement experience
- Military experience
Applicants who are not currently certified as a Virginia Law Enforcement Officer must successfully complete a Virginia law enforcement academy upon hire. All selected applicants must also complete the agency’s Field Training Program
.
The Sheriff’s Office provides law enforcement services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
. All sworn personnel must be able to work any shift as assigned
, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Salary is negotiable and based on experience, education, and certifications.
