About the role
As a Buyer at Scorpiogroup, you will play a pivotal role in managing the procurement of goods and services essential for our operations. Your expertise will contribute to optimizing our supply chain and ensuring that we maintain high-quality standards while adhering to budget constraints. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build lasting relationships with suppliers.
You will be based in Athens and will work closely with various departments to align purchasing strategies with our overall business objectives.

- Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities and pricing structures.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best possible terms and conditions.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure timely procurement of goods and services.
- Collaborate with the finance department to manage budgets and ensure adherence to financial guidelines.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Analyze purchasing data and market trends to make informed decisions and recommendations.
- Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, supplier performance, and market conditions to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies in the procurement process.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support product development and other strategic initiatives.
- Continuously seek opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement within the procurement function.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance the effectiveness of the purchasing process.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within a similar industry.
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable terms with suppliers.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Proficient in using procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards in procurement.
- Experience with e-procurement systems or software.
- Familiarity with sustainable purchasing practices and ethical sourcing.
- Additional language skills, particularly in Greek or other European languages.
- Previous experience in a multinational company or working with international suppliers.
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS, APICS) is a plus.
- Proficient in procurement software and tools for managing purchasing processes.
- Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and decision-making.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills for effective supplier interactions.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and forecasting tools.
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for data analysis.
- This position is based in Athens, and candidates must be eligible to work in Greece.
