Ability to push book trucks weighing up to 50lbs; sit for long periods of time; ability to use a kick stool to reach higher shelves and to squat down to reach lowest shelves in the book stacks. - Shift: Primarily 2nd shift, Sunday through Thursday, 3:30pm – 11:30pm (37.5 hrs/wk). Hours vary during the summer session and breaks depending on the operational hours of the library;
Total hours per week = 37.5. - Final date to receive applications: 02/24/2026
The Circulation department in the William T. Young Library is looking for a flexible, self-motivated, and customer-focused individual to serve as the Evening Shift Lead on our team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to working at the Ask Us or Welcome public service desks to assist patrons by answering questions, check out materials, assist with basic reference services; sort and shelve items as needed;
indirectly supervise student employees during their scheduled shifts; receive and review course reserve lists; retrieve course required materials; review copyright compliance; prepare course reserves; maintain and update course reserves; perform two building rounds per evening; ability to work with diverse patrons and manage potentially difficult situations; assist or manage emergency situations within the library; responsible for book requests; and has other duties as assigned.

BS; 2 years of related experience

Prefer bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience in an academic research library
