Role OverviewWe’re seeking a Director of Facilities & Maintenance to oversee all facility operations, maintenance, and repair projects across our centers. This leader will manage preventive maintenance programs, coordinate vendor relationships, handle major repair and construction issues, and ensure our schools are maintained to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and manage maintenance and repair operations across all Early Bird centers.
- Develop and implement a standardized maintenance program and Facilities Playbook for consistent operations across all locations.
- Establish preventive maintenance schedules using a CMMS system (e.g., Maintain
X). - Coordinate and supervise external vendors, contractors, and facility technicians for maintenance, repairs, and construction-related issues.
- Respond to urgent maintenance issues such as floods, HVAC failures, roof leaks, and other emergencies.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Manage maintenance budgets and track spending.
- Partner with the operations and construction teams on larger capital improvement projects or new builds.
- Develop KPI reporting for facility response time, work order completion rates, and preventive maintenance compliance.
- Train center directors on facilities issue reporting and escalation procedures.
- 5+ years in facilities management, maintenance supervision, or related field.
- Multi-site experience strongly preferred (education, retail, hospitality, or healthcare ideal).
- Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general construction.
- Experience implementing or managing a CMMS platform (Maintain
X experience a plus). - Excellent vendor management and communication skills.
- Ability to travel regularly to sites across multiple states.
- Travel 60% or so.
