Type: FULL-TIME; EXEMPT

Position Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Facilities & Events Manager supports all park facility operations by coordinating vendors and contractors and assisting with park programs, events, and rentals. This role works closely with the Director of Park Operations on facilities management and with the Director of Events & Venue Rentals to ensure smooth execution of all events and rentals in compliance with park rules and regulations.

The manager also supports day‑to‑day coordination with park and contract vendors and serves as the primary point of contact for event producers and production contracts, ensuring safe, efficient, and seamless visitor and event experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Support the day‑to‑day operations of park facilities and infrastructure as the primary on‑site contact, coordinating vendors, contractors, and event teams to ensure tasks—including setup, logistics, and service coordination—are completed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Assist the Director of Park Operations & Capital Development with planning, scheduling, and coordinating vendors and contractors to support facility operations, maintenance, and park programs.
  • Support day‑to‑day facility operations through cleaning, maintenance, setup, and grounds care.
  • Support the implementation and execution of park programs and events by coordinating logistics, vendor services, and operational requirements, and serve as a point of contact for production teams and contracts.
  • Supervise Park facilities used for rental events and concerts, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with Park Operations, Programming, Events, and Venue Rentals departments to ensure operational needs are met on‑site and events comply with park rules, safety regulations, and contractual obligations.
  • Help resolve operational or event‑related issues on‑site, including vendor or contractor delays, facility concerns, technical challenges, or safety incidents, to maintain safe and seamless experiences for visitors.
  • Track and share operational reports on vendor performance, contractor activities, and event operations with the Executive Director and Directors as needed.
  • Document issues, incidents, facility maintenance needs, and operational gaps for follow‑up, continuous improvement, and project planning.
  • Support special projects related to facility operations or events as assigned.
  • Contribute to a safe, welcoming, accessible, and high‑quality experience for all park visitors, guests, and event participants.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, Event Management, Facility Operations, Parks & Recreation, or a related field preferred; or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in facility support, venue operations, or event coordination; experience with performance venues, concerts, live events, or mixed‑use facilities strongly preferred.
  • Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, and production teams for events or facility operations.
  • Forklift operator certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift‑training program within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Experience with general maintenance or facility systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, accessibility requirements, and public spaces.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills with internal teams, external vendors, contractors, and community stakeholders.
  • Detail‑oriented, proactive, customer‑service minded, team‑oriented, and adaptable to changing operational priorities.
  • High standards of ethics, professionalism, and responsibility.
  • Flexible work schedule, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Passion for public space, sustainability, community development, or placemaking is a plus.
