Construction Project Manager
Job Description
The Construction Project Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Engineer Procure Construct (EPC) Project Manager or Program Manager to oversee day-to-day operations from pre-construction through project completion and warranty periods. This position involves managing various aspects of construction projects, including safety, quality, scheduling, cost control, and client relations.
Responsibilities
+ Adhere to company's safety programs, trainings, and policies, and promote and manage the Safety & Health performance of project team members and subcontractors.
+ Oversee day-to-day construction activities and successfully execute one or multiple projects simultaneously.
+ Provide direction and participate in project planning, scheduling, estimating, cost development, and establishing critical project objectives.
+ Develop new and manage existing client relationships while interfacing with the client for proposal and project-related items.
+ Participate in internal and external project risk reviews and consult with the Legal Department as required.
+ Negotiate prime contracts, CM contracts, subcontracts, and change orders.
+ Implement assigned sections of the Project Execution Plan, including construction execution, quality assurance, safety & health, subcontracting, staffing, organization chart, and procurement.
+ Develop construction staffing plans, train project teams, coordinate activities across disciplines, and ensure efficient utilization of staff.
+ Oversee development and implementation of site layout, mobilization, and demobilization plans.
+ Ensure all applicable project permits are secured.
+ Direct and oversee the RFP and bid process, including scope development, bidder evaluation, and selection.
+ Review, approve, and communicate internal and external reports including budgeting, cash flow forecasts, and project status.
+ Collaborate with engineering to ensure timely development and distribution of deliverables.
+ Manage downstream contract administration including RFIs, submittals, change management, closeout, documentation, and claims mitigation.
+ Oversee invoicing for Prime Contracts, subcontractors, and client contractors.
+ Coordinate and facilitate commissioning and startup teams.
+ Implement, audit, and oversee project documentation.
+ Confirm insurance, taxes/duties, licensures, and bonding requirements.
+ Conduct safety, quality, progress, and financial audits and assessments.
+ Oversee and participate in non-conformance reporting.
+ Facilitate cost reporting, scheduling, work breakdown structure, project setup/closeout, and field progress tracking.
+ Develop and manage materials receiving and inventory control processes.
+ Review contract documents with field staff to ensure compliance.
+ Direct project turnover documentation, warranty administration, closeout, and recordkeeping.
+ Support communication with governmental, industry, and public entities.
+ Review construction field reports.
+ Mentor and train interns, coordinators, craft supervision, and assistant project managers.
+ Provide performance feedback for project team members.
+ Manage community and building trades relationships.
+ Develop and implement project labor agreements.
+ Onboard craft/field supervision.
+ Manage composite crew rates for labor and equipment costs.
+ Manage project staffing.
+ Manage labor burdens including classifications, benefits, and labor laws.
+ Maintain accurate craft classifications and progression records.
+ Uphold craft competency and training standards.
+ Estimate, forecast, and manage craft install unit rates.
+ Manage earned value, schedule, change management, and cost metrics.
+ Mentor and foster craft training and identify advancement opportunities.
+ Manage construction equipment inventory.
+ May be assigned to a project site based on requirements.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction, Engineering, or related field.
+ 5+ years of project management experience, with at least one year in the Transmission and Distribution (T+D) space.
+ Experience as a standalone Project Manager on projects managed.
+ Willingness to travel to sites one week per month.

+ Direct document control, scheduling, and cost control experience.
+ Project management software experience.
Work Environment
This role is set in a consulting, professional engineering firm environment located downtown Lexington. The office is business casual with a headcount of approximately 30 individuals. The team is highly collaborative both within Lexington and across the country. Standard working hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexible start and leave times available.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lexington, KY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr.
