Job SummaryThe Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment seeks a candidate with strong management and organizational skills to serve as the Business Officer supporting the James
B. Beam Institute, Food Connection and Business Center. As a land‑grant institution, the Martin‑Gatton College works tirelessly to make the world a better place through its first‑class research, teaching and extension programs. Our college plays an integral part in the success of local agriculture, and food and environmental systems, which are key to Kentucky’s economic future. The Business Officer helps to ensure success by supporting the unit directors, faculty, staff and students with activities related to business operations.
The position is a highly demanding, rewarding role responsible for overseeing and managing all day‑to‑day business operations across multiple units.
This position is responsible for inventory, sales compliance, accounts receivable, human resources, fiscal management, and oversight of administrative tasks ranging from payroll and purchasing to budgeting, forecasting and logistical support. Additionally, the position coordinates all recruitment and hiring procedures for the units. This position includes excellent benefits and provides opportunities for professional development.
