Physical RequirementsSitting and/or standing at a computer for long periods of time; performing repetitive motion tasks; occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds; effectively communicating with individuals from diverse backgrounds and varied professional levels; and intermittent job-related travel.

The Editor in Chief position will have primary responsibility for developing and maintaining the acquisitions program for the University Press of Kentucky. In addition to acquiring a substantial number of books, the Editor in Chief will manage the day-to-day activities of the acquisitions staff, coordinate seasonal lists and workflow for the Press’s publications, and work closely with the director to shape the editorial program in a way that best serves the Press, the campus community, and its associated faculty and libraries.
This individual should be able to increase the salability of the Press’s publications. Establishing this position will also allow the Press director to focus on campus and institutional relations and partnerships, as well as development and philanthropy to help augment the ongoing sustainability of the Press.
