The Affordable Housing Manager leads the financial and strategic analysis behind Lexington’s affordable housing investments. This position works closely with the Affordable Housing Board and city leadership to evaluate development proposals, structure funding strategies, and guide public investment in housing projects across the community. The role manages the local Affordable Housing Fund which annually receives 1% of the city's prior year revenue (currently about $5 million).
The role involves underwriting affordable housing developments, analyzing market conditions, assessing project feasibility, and recommending funding decisions that maximize the impact of local and federal housing resources. to apply or for more information.
This is a high-level finance and policy position focused on housing development, deal structure, and program strategy—not social service delivery. The manager works with developers, financial partners, and government stakeholders to design programs, monitor project performance, manage loan funds, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. The role requires strong skills in financial analysis, housing development, and strategic planning to help guide Lexington’s growing affordable housing portfolio and ensure public investments produce high-quality housing outcomes.
